Welcome to Vista Alternative High School!

This year we will be celebrating our 21st year serving the students of YUHSD. Since 1991, we have had more than 2,000 students graduate from our school.

The traditional high school setting does not meet the needs of all students. Vista Alternative High School is proud to offer another option for students to meet the requirements for earning their high school diploma. Vista serves 300 students a year and provides differentiated instruction with a low student-teacher ratio.

Our Vista Alternative High School staff is committed to creating a positive environment where all students learn essential skills and experience success that fosters positive self-esteem and values life long learning.

The Strategies for Success is located on the Vista Alternative High School’s south campus/Vista south. Strategies for Success offers long-term suspended students the opportunity to continue their education while they observe their disciplinary restrictions from the other schools of Yuma Union High School District.

Vista Alternative High School provides our community with an academic program that meets a wide variety of student abilities, attitudes, and learning styles. It has established a tradition of cooperation, appropriate classroom behavior, and pride in accomplishment.
